Bio

Host pathogen interaction, tuberculosis, multifunctional proteins, iron transport, protein expression and enzyme characterization in Mycobacterium tuberculosis are subareas of research. Recently we have identified a novel mechanism by which M.tb acquires transferrin iron in order to survive during infection. The findings were published in Nature Communication in August 2014. Other research is focused on identifying new drug targets and developing protein expression strategies.
