Synthesis of analogs of medicinally important alkaloids with better therapeutic potential. Interaction of Drugs with DNA and RNA: Molecular basis of the antitumor and anticancer action of alkaloids through biophysical studies. Binding of a number of medicinally important natural products and small molecules to polymorphic nucleic acid structures like duplex, triplex and quadruplexes. Micro RNA-mRNA interaction. DNA and RNA polymorphism. Photochemistry and photobiology of alkaloids.
