? Improvement of economically important macroalgae through conventional as well as advanced methods (Tissue culture/ Molecular approaches/ Land-based cultivation/ Transgenics). ? Nuclear-localization and gene expression in macroalgae to disclose the cell-cell interactions. ? Molecular marker analysis to differentiate the natural populations and also to facilitates the selection of germplasm with desired traits. ? Development and application of genomic tools and strategies for marine algae.
