Yogish's expertise lies in non-communicable diseases (NCDs), health policy and systems research (HPSR), methodological approaches, both quantitative and qualitative research, life course epidemiology, tribal health, and data science. He has a particular interest in NCD prevention, NCD risk factor analysis, the continuum of care for diabetes and hypertension, multisectoral action for NCDs, social determinants of health, and health inequities.
